  4. Primo - challenges • challenges • data model • multitenancy • java plugins • (PDS) • (ORACLE RAC)

  5. Data model • replication used in ALEPH • for primo we have to duplicate the records • (own pipe for each view) central local local local replication central local 1 local 2

  6. multitenancy • back office access rights • every institution has an own user (with the same rights) • jsp files, ... • discussion with all partners • limitation of local fields • our solution (BO) • naming conventions • timeframes for server restarts • subversion for configuration files • communication!!!

  7. Using plugins • to integrate our repository for electronic ressources • Contents of abstracts and blurbs to full display • Contents of TOC, abstracts, blurbs, fulltext to search • plugins: • ENRICHMENT [ procuction ] • PNX EXTENSION [ test ] • incomplete documentation

  8. Enrichment plugin • works with a pipe • easy to implement (, if you know how to do) • write java class • attention to some java specific stuff • put it into a jar-archive • do some back office configurations • restart back office • some problems –> but now on production

  9. PNX EXTENSION • import external information (tocs, abstracts, …) for indexing • prepare data in xml format • current state: testing • selected issues: • only some types of electronical ressources are allowed yet • scheduling

  10. conclusion • a lot of thinks have been done (also by exliris) • a lots of work to do • 1st milestone reached (SPO) – more institutions will follow • open interfaces is a great possibility!!! • waiting for primo 3 to integrate OPAC functionality
