  1. Gold/Minerals Non-Renewable Resources

  2. Gold? When you think of Gold you most likely think of a necklace or a ring or some kind of jewelry. However that’s not all this yellow metal is used for. Many small electronic devises and computers contain gold in their circuit boards.

  3. Minerals? Many minerals are used for many different things in our world to make life easier. For example we have dirt and gravel that we use for smooth roads, we use oil in our cars and other mobiles, and the list goes on

  4. Why? Gold- Smaller devises use a very low voltage which normally will destroy the metal in the devise by corrosion or tarnishing. Gold is one of the best conductors of electricity because it wont corrode or tarnish.

  5. Pros & Cons (Gold) • It is the best conductor of electricity. • We couldn’t have cell phones, computers, or other small devises with out this. • Doesn’t corrode or tarnish . • Loss of metal to society. • Almost 1billion cell phones ,alone ,are made a year containing about $.50 of gold, only about 7% of them get recycled.

  6. Pros & Cons (minerals) • They make life easier. • They give us plenty of useful things. • They're non renewable • Getting them is very unhealthy for the earth. It causes many animals and plants to lose their homes and some can put off pollution

  7. Effects On The Enviorment 1. First off in order to get gold you must dig in the earth to get this yellow metal.(or for any mineral) This is also called mining. It destroys many habitats on the surface. 2. Its non renewable so we cant jus make more. Once we waste it all its gone till the earth can produce more.
