Oysters help to keep the Bay clean. Oysters are important to the Bay because they are filter feeders. Filter feeders are important because when the water is contaminated and dirty other animals will not be able to survive, so it is the oyster job to keep the Bay clean. Oysters also move a lot of phytoplankton from the Bay and keeps plants and animals save. Oysters provide food for other Bay animals.
Widgeon grass produces a special air that flows into the water. Widgeon grass rhizomes anchor soils and sediments other bottom of the bay helps clear the corer.
