Year 8: Our expectations & vision • 96% attendance (minimum) • Average A2L score of 3 (minimum) • Regular contribution to extra-curricular • Consistent use of knowledge organisers – in tutor time and at home • Being a positive role model for peers • For all pupils to thrive academically, emotionally and socially BGR

  7. Support from Parents/Carers Support from home makes a huge difference. You can help by: • Checking child’s planner and ShowMyHomework regularly • Checking basic equipment such as pencil case • Checking in good time that your child understands their homework • Knowledge organisers (need to be brought to school every day and used every evening) • Helping with memorisation tasks like learning keywords and facts • Encouraging your child to read regularly • Informing us of any change in circumstances that could be impact on your child’s learning BGR

  9. We expect all students to attend school in line with Government expectations, reaching a minimum of 95% attendance. Some absences are unavoidable but we would ask that parents and carers support the school in ensuring your child’s attendance meets these expectations.If you need to report your child's absence you need to contact the school by 9.00am using the School Gateway app in the first instance. Alternatively, email absence@jogschool.orgor leave a message on the absence line.If you have any concerns you would like to discuss, your first point of contact is your child’s tutor.   11. Attitude to learning scores are back! This means that each lesson the teacher will put a number from 1-4 for the present mark. 1 being a negative attitude to learning and 4 being exemplary attitude to learning. The number given will be chosen based on the attitude to learning in the lesson and the quality of the homework handed in ( if relevant) BGR
