  1. Killington 2014 1foot of fresh snow this week!!!!

  2. Departure Day • Monday 7th April 2014 • 0330am meet at school • Check in passport, money, and medication • Check hand luggage • Say goodbye (if parents are awake enough to stay to see you off!)

  3. 1 piece of luggage each (20kg) • 1 piece of hand luggage each (10kg) • You must be able to carry/move your luggage yourself • Check you have no restricted items in your hand luggage • Excess Baggage will be charged, is very expensive, and is not paid for as part of the trip

  4. Equipment

  5. Money • Checked into the bank when you arrive at school • Maximum $300 (limited by insurance) • Bank available each day from Tuesday pm • Balance will be returned to students in New York

  6. Medication • To be checked in on arrival at school • Only asthma medication and that covered by Doctors note to be carried by student (with letter) • ‘Spares’ handed in • All labelled and bagged (with instructions)

  7. Check-In • Electronic or Desk check-in • Security Questions • Security Check Point – sharp items, aerosol cans, liquids, metal items • Small amount of free time before boarding • Meal and soft drinks included on the flight

  8. US Immigration control • Passport, photo, digital fingerprints • “Why are you visiting?” • Ask a member of staff if at all worried • Social Media

  9. Vermont • Mon – Arrive in time for Dinner • Tues – Sat: Skiing & Boarding (Quiz Night, Shopping, Bowling, Cabaret etc.) • Sun – Transfer to New York (Woodbury Common en route) • Additional team competitions……

  10. New York City • Dinner at Hard Rock Café • ‘Top of the Rock’ • Statten Island Ferry Sightseeing • 9/11 Memorial and museum • Grand Central • 5th avenue • Dinner at Bubba Gumps & the evening at Times Square • And much more……

  11. On the Mountain • Skiing/Boarding 5hrs each day with instructors • No ‘Free’ Ski • 1hr Lunch (supervised) • Helmet mandatory • No audio devices • Meeting times! • Safe slope code

  12. In the hotels • Respect for others • On time • Staff locations • Fire/Evacuation Procedures • Drinks/Snacks • Wi-fi

Meals • Food and drink on the planes – change for refreshments at the airport? • Vermont – Breakfast and Dinner in the Holiday Inn • Killington – Lunch Token • New York – Dinner in restaurants, Lunch in the city, Breakfast at a local Diner. • You will need to eat all meals • No technology at the dining table

  14. Swimming • Opportunity to Swim and use hot tubs most days • Out of Bounds unless with WDF staff • Safe use/sensible guidelines as well as ‘local’ rules apply

  15. Insurance Cover • All activities are covered • Cash spending money covered • No cover if you have an accident and are using an electronic device on the slopes • Other personal belongings covered • Reminder of £30 medical excess • See emails for full cover and summary document • Notify me of cover issues • Hand back tonight's document

  16. Mobile Phones • Roaming charges – bills in excess of £100 • We strongly recommend against taking phones

  17. Arrival Notification/Updates • No phone chain • Staff have your emergency contact numbers if needed • E-mail to inform you of our arrival • E-mail if necessary to update you on non-emergency group circumstances • Please update e-mail if needed

  18. Cabaret • Saturday Night • All perform • Maximum group size 4 • Everyone wins points for their team • Staff performance!! • Don’t forget ‘Animations Day’

  19. Ski Fit • Tuesday Morning and Thursday Afternoon • Meet others going • Earn team points • Improve fitness • Maximise enjoyment
