  3. Definitions • Aging society: -7-14% of the population are 65 years or older • Aged society: -14-20% of the population are 65 years or older • Super-aged society: -20% or more of the population are 65 years or older

  6. 2. Causes & Problems • ①Low birth rate • ②High life expectancy the average of life expectancy: 62.3(1971) → 79.6(2010) 4.53 2.06 1.15 1982 1985

  7. 2. Causes & Problems • ①Increased caregiving burden -1.4 of working population has to support 1elderly person • ②Major factor of slow economic growth

  8. 3. Solutions • ①Increase childbirth rate -increase the amount of childbirth grant & maternity leave and pay (Health/Welfare/Employment) childcare/woman/family

  9. ②Encouraging elderly employment -retirement age: ~65 years (↑An image promoting a government-led elderly employment program in South Korea )
