Se kuvaa, kuinkakylmä tai kuumakohde on. • Lämpötilantunnus on T jasen SI-järjestelmänmukainenyksikkö on 1 K (kelvin). • Lämpömittareidentoimintaperustuulämpöilmiöihin, esim. lämpölaajenemiseen, sähkönkulkuun, lämpösäteilyyn… • Lämpö on kappaleidenlämpötilaerostaaiheutuvaakuumemmastakappaleestakylmempäänsiirtyvääenergiaa.
