  1. Summary Saint Louis Armstrong Beach is a good 11 year old clarinet player whose best friend is a stray dog named Shadow. Saint and Shadow live New Orleans. Saint didn’t believe Hurricane Katrina was going to be a problem because hurricanes came all the time but never caused major damage. When Hurricane Katrina hits Saint doesn’t go with his cousins but runs off to find Shadow. Saint finds Shadow but the water is rising so he can’t get back to his cousins so he has to find a safe place to go. So Saint goes to his neighbor’s house and finds an old lady who needs help. So Saint takes the old lady and Shadow to her attic to escape the rising waters.
