  4. REPENTANCE • “Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.” Lk 13:24 • Didn’t His death on the Cross save us?

  5. REPENTANCE • Repentance is the KEY • God will not ask us why we sinned • God will ask us why we didn’t repent

  6. REPENTANCE “Return, thou backsliding Israel, says the LORD; and I will not cause my anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, says the LORD, and I will not keep anger for ever. Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou has transgressed against the LORD thy God…” Jer 3:12-13

  10. REPENTANCE • GOD • Ps 50 • Learn to develop a CONTRITE heart • Expose your heart to God • Don’t make excuses • Prostrate with the mention of every sin

  12. REPENTANCE • Apology • “Against You, You only, have I sinned,  and done this evil in Your sight— “Ps 50 • Desire to change • Promise/Oath • Job 31“I have made a covenant with my eyes;
      Why then should I look upon a young woman?”

  13. REPENTANCE • When? • After every fall • Every day/night • “But repent, O my soul, so long as you dwell on this earth..”Compline Prayer • Before you partaking of the Eucharist • Before confession • Lent increases sensitivity

  14. REPENTANCE • DO NOT DESPAIR • There’s always hope • You’re not alone
