  2. The problem for trauma care in Belgium is the total lack of co-ordinated intra-hospital care. Too often an ad hoc organization, leading to unclear procedures and loss of vital time, has to be established. Many reports from all over the world have documented a reduction in overall mortality, preventable death and morbidity after the installation of a regionalized and well-organized trauma system Injury Volume 34, Issue 9, September 2003, Pages 652-657 World Trauma Care Systems
