  1. Instruction on using the Bubble Map Strategy to provide feedback using the rubric: Step 1: Teacher provides a description of the purpose and use of the rubric. Teacher rates a completed Bubble Map for the students. Students are provided with the rubric and completed Bubble Map to follow as teacher demonstrates the rating process. Joint Responsibility Teacher Responsibility Student Responsibility WE DO (students work together in pairs or small groups) Student YOU DO (students work alone) Step 2: Students are provided a rubric and a completed Bubble Map. Students rate complete maps in pairs. Teacher monitors pairs. Review rating as a class. Discuss differences and reach consensus on rating. Student Teacher Step 3: Students are provided a rubric and a completed Bubble Map. Students rate form alone. Review as class. Discuss differences and reach consensus on rating. I DO (teacher delivers direct instruction) Student Teacher WE DO (teacher monitors students) Most amount of teacher support Least amount of teacher support Note: Each step may be repeated to ensure understanding before moving to the next step.
