Fine Arts Program rated Recognized The Fine Arts Department at Cummings Middle School offers students many opportunities to strengthen and showcase their talents. 10 CMS students were chosen for All-Region Choir, 4 CMS students were chosen for All-Valley Band, and 4 students won 1st and 2nd Place in BallroomFinals.   3. Wellness and Physical Education Programs rated Recognized The Mighty Red Ant Students and Teachers showed their school spirit at Cummings Middle School Red Ribbon Rally and Red Ant Run. Cummings teachers and staff took part in BISD’s health screening to learn about and improve their health. Cummings Middle School

Cummings Middle School Parent Center Community and Parental Involvement rated Acceptable Cummings Middle School parents showed their support for their children and school by participating in various school events. They attended meetings every Wednesday at the CMS parent center, and helped out with the Red Ant Run, and Charro Days, and chaperoned Trip to Glady’s Porter Zoo. Cummings Middle School

  5. 21st Century Workforce Development rated Recognized Our dedicated Cummings Middle School Counselors set up a Career Day for students to explore their options for their future careers. They ensured that every 8th grade student had a Personal Growth Plan for their high school next year. Cummings Middle School

  6. Second Language Acquisition Program Acceptable Cummings Middle School ELL students were provided with various cultural awareness experiences such as Charro Days and Cinco de Mayo. They used writing portfolios and utilized campus computer labs to access to Rosetta Stone to improve their language acquisition. Cummings Middle School

  7. Digital Learning Environment rated Recognized Cummings Middle School utilizes its resources to support technology integration in instruction. Students go to the computer labs to work on Itation and Think Thru Math. CMS students use STEM resources to compete in robotics. Cummings Middle School

  8. Dropout Prevention Strategies rated Exemplary Cummings Middle School offered various remediation programs such as tutorials, RTI pull-out sessions and sessions with At-Risk counselor. Attendance rates increased due to collaborative efforts of office personnel, parental involvement, Communities in School and our principal’s active monitoring. Cummings Middle School

Gifted and Talented Program rated Recognized Cummings Middle School students were provided with a variety of opportunities to showcase their G/T talents, including Brainsville, Robotics, UIL One Act Play, History Fair, Science Fair. Cummings Middle School G/T students were served through Fine Arts department to enhance their artistic abilities in the areas of Band, Choir, and Art. Cummings Middle School
