KIDS RUN OTTAWANew for 2017 • Fall of 2016, Run Ottawa launched Kids Run Ottawa program. • 14 week fitness program designed for kids 6-12, culminating in participation in the Kids Marathon during TORW. Have introduced Kids Runs into Saturday 5K runs and associating Kids Run Ottawa brand into our events featuring kids runs. • Program partially funded thru a two year grant from the Ontario Sport and Recreation fund. • Managed and directed by Run Ottawa membership coordinator Lisa Georges. • Kids Run Ottawa highlights from 2017: • 2017 Total participants Kids Marathon – 1320 increase of 469 • 2017 Kids Run Ottawa participants in run – 958 – 73% of all runners • 2017 Number of Kids Run Ottawa Schools – 29* – up from 6 in 2016 • *(additional 10 more schools in KRO program but not in Kids Marathon, additional 427 students) • 2018 - already 28 schools enrolled in program.

RUN OTTAWA MEMBERSHIPYear in Review • We currently have 728 members up from 434 this time last year—over 65% growth. • We have seen a significant increase in member participation at Run Ottawa events and we continue to seek greater opportunities for member activity through our “social running” initiatives. • Membership highlights from 2017: • Increase in participation and engagement on social media with January’s #RORunstreak • Increase of members engagement on the Facebook group page • Run Ottawa singlets were a huge hit with members; many wearing them at events outside of Ottawa • Increase in engagement with Affiliate run clubs/organizations, allowing members to explore/experience running and training with qualified running coaches leading our 6@6s or by joining their weekly runs. • Development of Run Ottawa membership committee

  26. THANK YOU WENDY ! • Our longest serving board member joining the board in early 2000’s • 26 marathons and counting. • 7 Boston Marathons, #8 next April. Qualified 9 times but was injured this year and had to withdraw.  • Qualified for the Boston Marathon in her first Marathon run which was in Cumberland. • Crossed the Boston marathon finish line in 2013 about 40 minutes before the first bomb exploded. Two weeks later she ran the Big Sur Marathon • Other Cities in which Wendy has run marathons include New York , Chicago, Sedona, Berlin, Washington (Marine Corp), Cologne, Munich, Quebec. • Personal best 3:21 at Ottawa Race Weekend! • Next Marathon - Death Valley in February. • Will continue legal support for Run Ottawa

RUN OTTAWA BYLAWSProposed Changes & Motion • Current By-Laws (2013), Proposed Changes, and new 2017 By-Laws are posted to; http://www.runottawa.ca/ro/membership/members-area • Changes affect sections; • Article 3.2 Board of Directors • Article 3.3 Terms of Directors • Article 3.5 (c) Vacancies • Article 6.1 Term • Motion: • Whereas the board of directors has approved the changes to the bylaws specified in the Changes to the Bylaws document, to institute term limits for board membership and officer positions, it is moved by Mark Sutcliffe and seconded by Dave Palmer that the changes take effect in November 2019, with the board to create an implementation plan in the interim period.
