  4. Title I • October Required Audit Items Items, along with monthly documentation, will be reviewed during the November visit e-checklist due Oct 31

  6. Title I • Non-salary Budgets • Review budgets for non-salary funds • Submit requisitions by December 21 • Ensure expenditures on in SIP

  7. Title I • School Improvement Plans • Ensure that Components are evident in SIP • Email completed FY13 Title I Components Checklist to your Specialist • Revise SIP based on feedback from Title I • Email Specialist when changes are ready for review 12schools have not submitted the checklist

Title I • Parent Involvement Policy/Plan • Email Amy Barningham by October 26th that PIP is ready for Title I review (66 pending) • Revise PIP based on feedback by November 9th • Must print PIP to see comments • Areas will be marked Adequate, Needs more information or clarification or N/A • Email reviewer once changes are made • Create summary of PIP for parent distribution in multiple languages • Document distribution of summary by November 20th in blue folder 1 (cover letter, tear-off) • Recorded Breeze presentation available on website

  9. Title I • School-Parent Compact • Share during parent-teacher conferences • Required of elementary schools • Document on conference notes • Parent-Teacher Conferences • May use Title I funds to pay for subs for release time • May pay PRT for before or after school conferences

Title I • District or LEA PIP • Title I will provide copies for distribution in late November • More information to come via email • SPAR • Bulletin being sent our from Department of EDW, Accountability, and School Improvement • Title I Verification will be emailed to schools once bulletin is published • Due December 3rd

Title I • Role of Parent Liaisons • Provide parent trainings • Support teachers with parent communication • Visit homes when appropriate • Encourage parent involvement • Provide resources for parents to check-out • Recruit business partners and volunteers • Maintain documentation as evidence of parent support (PRT only)

  13. Title I • National Parent Involvement Month • Celebrate parents and their involvement in school • Parent Pledge available • Newsletter • Edline • SAC/PTO/PTA • Marquee • Event for parents to take the pledge

Title I • Field Trips • Approved by Specialist prior to using Title I funds • Documented in SIP • Have direct impact on core content areas • May not be used as incentives or rewards • Cost should be reasonable • Resort or vacation areas are not allowed • Charter Reimbursements • End of first quarter was September 30th • Review training from Sept 20th on Charter webpage under Title I to help with packet • Ensure all requests are documented in SIP • Only 3 schools have approved packets thus far
