  4. Closing Out FY12 • Budgets • Review balances now • Consolidate funds to make final purchases • Use P card through June 8th • June Tutoring • Keep documentation (teacher sign-in sheets, lesson plans, student attendance) • Enter all payroll by June 28th by 5:00 pm

Closing Out FY12 • June Professional Development • Document activity in Function 6402 (agendas, sign-in sheets, work products, etc.) • Examples: Common Core Planning, Collaborative Planning, Curriculum Training, etc. • Enter all payroll by June 28th by 5:00 pm • Audit Sweep • Email sent May 9th to Contacts • Specialist will schedule a visit to complete sweep • After audit files are complete, send Audit Assurance to C-206, attention Missy Shea

Closing Out FY12 • Family Involvement Parent Surveys/Results • Due May 15th to C-206 • Results will be emailed week of May 21st • Plan to share the results with the families, faculty and members of the SAC Committee • Document meetings (agenda, sign-in sheets, minutes) • Use the survey results to evaluate or modify the Parent Involvement Policy/Plan (PIP) and the School-Parent Compact

Looking Ahead to FY13 • Budgets • Due May 18th • Positions will be set up by Budget after Area Superintendent approval is received • No changes will be made until July 1, 2012 when funds become available • District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC) • Emailing Principals May 21st • Email includes responsibilities of DPAC and recommendation of parents • Requesting names of 2 parents and 1 alternate who may be interested in serving on the FY13 PDAC

  8. Looking Ahead to FY13 • Changes Due to State Waiver • Technical Support • Training scheduled for early August • Complete poll to assist with planning

Looking Ahead to FY13 • Supplemental Educational Services • Free tutoring in reading, math or science from state-approved providers for eligible students • Parents must choose the provider • Transportation is not provided by the district • Parents of eligible students will be notified of the availability of services at the beginning of the school year • As a result of the waiver, there will be many changes to SES for 2012-2013 • The Florida legislature passed HB7127 that allows for SES for 2012-2013

Looking Ahead to FY13 • SES continued • Student eligibility has changed - Eligible students must attend a Title I school, receive F/R priced-meals, AND be Level 1 or 2 on FCAT • Students in K – 2 will be ineligible and only retained grade 3 students will be eligible • Students new to the District who have yet to take the FCAT will be ineligible • All Title I schools are eligible • Funding is reduced, so fewer students will be served

  11. Looking Ahead to FY13 • Public School Choice • Florida was one of 11 states that received a waiver from USDOE from many of the provisions of ESEA • There will be no PSC for 2012-2013 • Students who previously transferred to another school under PSC will be allowed to remain at the transfer school through the highest grade of the school • Transportation may not be provided - decision has yet to be made

  12. Looking Ahead to FY13 • Public School Choice • The Choice and Career Options Department has recommended that students register at their home school for 2012-2013 • Please contact Diana Pilat with questions regarding PSC @ 357-1177 or diana.pilat@palmbeachschools.org
