Special programme In the year 2006-07 total Kisan Mitra & Kisan Didi 78288 were trained Scheme for training to Schedule cast and Schedule tribe farmers has been launched from 2007-08 Scheme for training to Women farmers, has been launched from 2007-08 Campaign of seed treatment for Kharif and Rabi crops. Transfer of Technology through ATMA scheme Focus on minor irrigation and ground water recharge: State support to farm ponds, tanks Revival of extension system: ATMA, KRISHINET, KCC, IVRI, Kisan Mitra/ Kisan Didi; farmer clubs; more staff Organization of field demonstrations and training by ITC & Department of Agriculture under PPP model of ATMA

SEED TREATMENT CAMPAIGN KHARIF : Seed treatment of 40% area sown in Kharif 07 as against 23% area treated in Kharif 06 RABI : Target crops are WHEAT and CHICKPEA Rabi target of seed treatment is 60 lakh hectares STRATEGY : Participation of Government and Private industries Publicity through AIR, DD, local cable channels Participation of Agriculture University, Regional /Zonal research stations, KVKs, NGOs, DPIP, ATMA & Departmental training centers Organization of demonstration & training Use of power operated seed treating machines

National Food Security Mission Crops included – Paddy, Wheat, Pulses Target districts – Wheat – 30 Pulses – 20 Paddy – 9 Common districts - Paddy, wheat, pulses - 4 districts Wheat, pulses – 12 districts Wheat , Paddy – 4 districts Launching – 2007-08 - 1.
