  2. Scientific Input Management Balance & Integrated use Qualitative & Suitable varieties IPM & proper application technique Multifunctional and affordable Intensive agriculture is depends on material input but could be sustainable and could access in easy manner.

  3. Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) • INM which includes soil test based balanced and judicious use of chemical fertilizers in conjunction with biofertilizers, and organic manures like FYM, compost, vermicompost • Encourage bio-pesticide usage • Encourage bio-control agents

Concept of Judicious Use of Fertilizers • Development of Soil Test based agro-climatic zone wise package of practices for all crops • Soil Testing • Number of Soil Testing Laboratories in the country: 1049 • No. of Soil Samples Analysed per year : 85 lakh (capacity 1 cr/year) • No. of land holdings: 12 cr • Individual Soil Health Card • Time limit: to be completed in 12th five year plan • Soil Testing kits- agencies to be identified for taking up the soil testing at farmer level • Help of KVKs and other technical agencies • Through PPP Mode • Soil Fertility Maps: for districts, blocks and villages • BhooChetana Technology Model

Fertilizer Use Efficiency • Soil Carbon • Increase of soil carbon by application of FYM, compost, green manuring, other humus adding material • Problematic soils to be addressed • Soil Amendments Gypsum application, lime application • Use of slow release fertilizers such as Neem Coated, Sulphur Coated Urea

  6. Establishment of Laboratories • Soil Testing Laboratories (STLs) • Fertilizer Quality Control Labs. (FQCLs) • Pesticide Quality Control Labs. • Bio-pesticide testing Labs. • Biofertiliser Testing Labs. (12th Plan)

  7. Use of Complex & Customized Fertilizers • Use of complex fertilizers (NPK) and customized fertilizers which are considered to be agronomical better and more balanced fertilizers in place of straight fertilizers like urea, DAP, MOP

  8. Use of Fortified Fertilizers • Use of fertilizers fortified with micro-nutrients should be encouraged besides using micro-nutrients separately • Micro-nutrient status to be analysed • Blending of micro-nutrients in the regular complex fertilizers and straight fertilizers

  9. Use of Biofetilizers • Use of phosphate solubilizing bacteria to save phosphatic chemical fertilizers • Use of Azospirillum, Azotobacter, Rhizobium to save N chemical fertilizers • Use of potash mobilizing biofertilizers to save K chemical fertilizers • Above biofertilisers can supplement upto 20-25% of chemical fertilizers (NPK) • Seed supplying agencies compulsorily provide biofertilisers and seed treating material along with seed packets

  10. Organic Farming & Organic Fertilizers Use of all natural resources like:- • FYM, • Vermicompost, • Green manure, • Fruit and Vegetable Waste Compost, • MSW compost etc.

Pesticides • Pest surveillance units to be strengthened and surveillance intensified • Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) • IPM technology • NABL accreditation of SPTLs for quality control of pesticides • Strengthening of SPTLs for bio-pesticide testing • States are required to devote special attention to such growing areas where incidence of over use of pesticides has been detected by setting up farmers field school and intensifying extension activities

GUJARAT: Fertilizers and Pesticides-Future Planning • Conversion of agriculture waste and city compost in organic manure on PPP mode. • Incentive for Green manuring and free services of rotavator to burry the crop • Laboratory for mapping and atlas preparation of beneficial organism • Leaf Tissue Analysis Laboratory

Arunachal Pradesh Research needs Support Soil classification and Nutrient indexing &Undertake land use classification through application of Remote sensing &GIS Develop agro-ecological situation specific crop sequence under rainfed and irrigated conditions Standardize nutrient requirement on Soil Test Crop Response study
