  2. Primary Focus • Standardized version of software / operating system • Enhance the user experience • Minimize login time • Automated installation of software • Simplify login for K-2 Students • Remove Legacy software • Internal / External Firewalls

  3. 2012/13 Capital Replacement Plan • Crestwood, Herald, Riverside, Vincent Massey, School student computers were replaced • Windows 7, Office 2010 and the standard District software

  4. Standardized Software • Upgraded / Deployed Windows 7 and standard software to: • AMS • Alternate Programs • CHHS • Christian School • George Davison • MHHS • River Heights • Webster Niblock

  5. Network Speed • Upgraded Supernet for Elementary Schools from 20 Mbps to 100 Mbps • Upgraded Supernet for AMS from 20 Mbps to 100 Mbps • Upgraded Supernet connect for Central office from 76 Mbps to 1,000 Mbps • Installed a dedicated 1,000 Mbps link from CHHS to MHHS

  6. Digital External Signs • Installed and configured the digital signs located at: • AMS • CHHS • MHHS • Positive feedback from the schools and community

  7. Internal / External Firewall • Increased level of security from internal and external threats • Limit access to internal services to specific users, groups, and /or computers

Automated Shutdown of Computers • 5pm message to the user asking if they are still working, after 10 minutes without a response, automatically shut down • One computer uses 120 watts of electricity, which is .12 kWh. • Generating electricity generates CO2 emissions.
