Vinnytsia Region 360км 420 км • Territory – 26,5 thousand km2 (4,4% of Ukraine); • Population (January 2011) – 1,65million persons; • Distance from Vinnytsia to Kyiv: by railway – 222 km by road – 260 km • Vinnytsia region has an extensive network of railways (1124 km) which connects all main industrial centers of the region with Ukrainian, CIS and EU cities. It also has an extensive network of automobile roads (9524 km) of state and local importance; • Airport “Vinnytsia” is located 7.5 km east of Vinnytsia railway station. The airport has a license to service international flights; • Vinnytsia region is situated in the centre of Ukraine. It borders with the Republic of Moldova and 7 Ukrainian regions; • Geographical position creates favorable conditions for the development of region’s economy. 450 км 420 км

Industrial Potential of the region Vinnytsia region has diversified industrial complex; Region occupies second place in Ukraine in terms of food production; There are 39 innovative enterprises in the region. In 2010 they introduced 82 innovative products and 69 new technological processes. The main purpose of the regional industrial policy is to create favorable environment for local enterprises

Agro-Industrial Complex of the region • Geographical position of the region creates favourable conditions for agriculture; • 6.4% of gross agricultural production of Ukraine is produced in Vinnytsia region; • The region has the largest sugar beet complex in Ukraine; • Black soils cover approximately 21% of the region’s area • Grain direction with technical crops growing, developed meat and milk husbandry are main directions of the region’s AIC

Education in the region • There are 42 higher educational establishments of I-IV level of accreditation in the region; • There are 3 National universities: - Vinnytsia National Agrarian University (8300 students); - Vinnytsia National Technical University (5500 students); - Vinnytsia National Pirogov Memorial Medical University (7800 students)

Investment priorities of the region • It is involved 224.6 million USD of foreign direct investments in the region’s economy from the beginning of the investment process; • 46 countries invested in the region’s economy; • There are more than 180 enterprises with foreign capital in Vinnytsia region; • Agriculture, energy saving, processing industry, machine building, transport infrastructure and tourism are among investment priorities of the region; • Agriculture sector takes leading position in investments involving; • Since 2012 complex on poultry production of TM “Nasha Riaba” has been constricting in town Ladyzhyn. Estimated cost of investments – 1,5 billion USD.

International Cooperation and Foreign Economic Activity of Vinnytsia region • 12 Agreements on trade and economic, scientific-technical and humanitarian cooperation between different regions of the Republic of Poland, Romania, Republic of Moldova, Russian Federation, Republic of Belarus; • Cooperation is implementing in the fields of economy, ecology, health, culture, education, sports and tourism. • Vinnytsia region is export oriented region; • The region cooperates with more than 115 countries of the world; • During 21 years since the gaining independence of Ukraine, the region has a positive trade balance.
