  1. Thinking Inside the Box Assessment 1 Scientific Thinking

  2. Thinking Inside the Box • Ask Questions- go through the process for creating a good question • Make Observations- create a data table to record observations • Make Inferences- based on the observations make inferences • Hypothesize- Answer the question: How can you identify what’s inside the box?

  3. Presentation The Box Studies: we are striving for the best description of the contents of The Box in a box that may never be opened. The presentation should indicate what is to be performed experimentally (slide 5)and what results might be expected to determine (slide 6)the contents of The Box. You must include: • the questions you asked (slide 2) • your observations (slide 3) • your inferences (slide 4) • finally your hypothesis about what is in the box (slide 7) Your presentation may be presented as a power point or poster. Each them member must produce his/her own presentation. You can email power points to sdouglas@kippstar.org or bring them on your flash drive. Be creative and thinking “inside” the box! Slide 1 includes a title, your name, your homeroom and the date. This is your assessment grade for the first unit of science class. Use your notes and think!
