Title 5 Requirements - Policies • Title 5,§53002 requires the Board to adopt a policy statement “setting forth the district’s commitment to an equal employment opportunity program” • Policy 1400: The Board of Trustees of San Joaquin Delta Community College declares and reaffirms a policy of equal employment opportunity, equal educational opportunity, and affirmative action in the provision of educational and other services to the public. • BP 3410: The Board of Trustees of San Joaquin Delta Community College is committed to equal opportunity in education programs, employment, and all access to institutional programs an activities.

  4. Title 5 Requirements – Recruitment & Selection • Develop a district EEO plan • Requirements for district plan are tied to availability data, waiting for Chancellor’s office to provide guidance. • Establish an Equal Employment Opportunity Advisory Committee • Review and Action by Human Resources at each step in the process: • Recruitment strategies • Job descriptions • Screening criteria

District Recruitment & Selection Process • Recently revised AP7120, modeled after requirements of Title 5 • Recently implemented NeoGov, better reporting • HR involvement: • Work with hiring managers develop recruitment plan • Sufficient pool of candidates? Diverse pool? • Screening criteria • Continuous improvement (Strategic Goal 5)
