  1. Introduction to Engineering Design DAY 2 Yesterday, it was announced that there is enough radiation leaving the Fukishima Nuclear Plant in Japan that a person would die in two hours if they were near the disaster. They are currently working through solutions to the problem of contaminated water leaking out from the plant. How would you suggest stopping the water from leaking?

  2. Yesterday’s Homework • In your notebooks… • Describe one thing you think could be better engineered for safety, the environment or your personal use. Be realistic and be ready to share!

  3. Let’s Get on the Computers! • Log in: 1st 5 letters of your last name, initial of first name, initial of middle name and last 2 digits of Student ID # • Password: Last 6 digits of student ID#

  4. Homework • Find 5 recent engineering articles/projects that interest you. Print the abstract and write a three sentence summary of your favorite article. • The three sentence summary will include: • What was the purpose? • How did they test (collect data)? • What did they find out?
