At Hawkins Middle School, our Honors Classes challenge and engage every student, nurturing their strengths and intellect. These classes offer varied levels of intellectual demand and a challenging curriculum with an accelerated pace. Available options include 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Honors Humanities as well as Math Acceleration. To apply, students must complete an application by May 27th. Admissions will be based on a review of four criteria, with notifications sent in June. We encourage students to embrace this opportunity for growth and peer interaction!

  2. What is Honors? • Class that provides the opportunity for students to grow in their area of strength and interact with peers of similar intellectual ability • Varying levels of intellectual demand • Challenging Curriculum • Same core materials with accelerated pace

  4. Class Options • 6th Grade Honors Humanities • 7th Grade Honors Humanities • 8th Grade Honors Humanities • Math Acceleration

  5. How? • Get an application • Fill out application, Parent Inventory and Sign • Turn in by May 27th

  6. Then what? • Students will be reviewed based on 4 criterion • Students will be placed in rank order based on criterion score • Notification of enrollment will be sent out in June • Students not enrolled will be placed on a waiting list
