  2. What is eNRICH ? eNRICH is a community software solution that has been designed with the purpose of enriching the lives of the underprivileged by empowering them with knowledge and communication More

Why eNRICH? • Developing & maintaining a community web site is time consuming • It requires special skill sets which may not be always available in rural areas • Information content in local language is lacking • Illiteracy is a major barrier • Searching for information in the Internet is time consuming & costly. • Relevancy & authenticity of information available on the Internet cannot always be judged immediately by a casual user • Data on access habits is not available More

Why eNRICH ? eNRICH • Provides a simple, consistent and easy to use interface in the community’s own local language and using multiple media. • Nullifies the need for a special skill set required to upgrade & maintain community portal by providing a simple tool to manage the portal interface. • Promotes local community participation in knowledge sharing as well as inter & intra community communication. • Provides access to relevant content through URL bank, which can be populated by subject & domain experts • Acts as a tool for analyzing user’s behavior and usage pattern to facilitate research activities More

  5. Two Components of eNRICH • Community Browser User Interface (CBUI) is the portal interface that is used by the community members • Desk Manager User Interface (DMUI)is a web based site administration and analysis tool for the site manager and researchers More
