Motions & Elections 2011 A total of 99 counted, 0 of which were invalid.                                          Candidates:                      Yes Votes                No Votes                  Abstain Edita Noruisiene: 98                               1                                 0 * To be elected as Executive Committee member as per 1 September 2011.  The ballots were sent to 1669 members with voting rights before  24th June 2011.  A quorum for a postal ballot shall be 7% of the voting Members, this means 117 votes at least. RESULTS: Due to the low amount of the returned ballots the elections for 2011 were invalid.

  4. Motions & Elections 2011 Steps, which were taken by Secretariat in order to get higher response: • Reminder sent to EDTNA/ERCA members with voting right asking them to send their ballot via email • Email sent to KM/LM to encourage the EDTNA/ERCA members to take part in the elections

  5. Motions & Elections 2011 Possible resons for poor response: • low interest of EDTNA/ERCA members in the EDTNA/ERCA future • EDTNA/ERCA members carry the costs of the shipment • July, August – period of annual leaves • Lost ballots - Information from MR of sending 15 ballots from the Belgium dialysis unit – never received by Secretariat) • No claims can be applied against the “Ceska posta” as the envelops are sent as ordinary mail

  6. Motions & Elections 2011 • The need of the Online election system to be considered by EC (even trough higher implementation costs) – combination of paper and electronic ballots? • Elections strategy including costs for the online election system to be prepared for November EC meeting
