What SHOULD All Senator ’s DO… • Attend all Student Government Association • Secure a replacement with the Alternate Senator/Delegate or an Executive Board member from the organization if absent • Take notes on all important information and discussions throughout the SGA/Council meetings • Be knowledgeable of Robert's Rules of Order • Give a report during all organization meetings • Help train and transition the incoming Senator

Advocate for Greek Life in SGA Meetings… • You represent your council and all of Greek Life when you attend SGA Meetings • Be on time, look the part, and be attentive throughout the meeting • Know what you are voting on at all times ad·vo·cate  (ăd′və-kāt′).v.ad·vo·cat·ed, ad·vo·cat·ing, ad·vo·catesTo speak, plead, or argue in favor of. Filter & Relay… • Filter & Relay important information • Speak up more during SGA meetings- THE COMMUNITY NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT THE POSITIVE THINGS OUR CHAPTERS DO • Know what information interests your group • DATES, TIMES, LOCATIONS, CONTACTS!!!! • Email your notes right after SGA meeting to org members (Orgsync) • Give highlights from your report at your Council meeting

  6. Know about Motions… • Know how a motion works… • Motions are basically group decisions • Know the steps • Motion is presented (from VP of SGA or from another Senator) • Motion needs a second • Discussion (this is when you should ask questions) • Vote (approve, deny, abstentions)
