This engaging five-day unit plan on pumpkins, designed by Laurie McConnell, allows young learners to explore their knowledge, growth, and uses of pumpkins. Each day focuses on a specific goal, such as discovering what students already know, exploring pumpkin growth through hands-on activities, crafting pumpkins, and making delicious pumpkin muffins. Students will engage in various methods of discovery, such as reading, cutting, measuring, and taking a hayride to a pumpkin patch. Assessments facilitate reflection on learning throughout the week.
