  2. Level 4 To gain a level 4 you must create a Moodboard with a range of images reflecting the theme you have chosen. You must have at least 8 images. Think about a range of: • Patterns • Shapes • Colour ways

  3. Level 5 To gain a level 5 you must complete level 4 first and then analyse the theme you have chosen. Think about the following words to explain why you have chosen the theme: • Patterns – e.g. stripes, polka dots, swirls, liner lines • Shapes – e.g. circles, triangles, geometric shapes, squares • Colour ways – e.g. bright, pastel, natural, dark shades

  4. Level 6 To gain a level 6 you must complete level 4 and 5 first, then select six images and explain what inspiration they could give you. Think about the following words to explain why you have chosen the theme: • Patterns – e.g. stripes, polka dots, swirls, liner lines • Shapes – e.g. circles, triangles, geometric shapes, squares • Colour ways – e.g. bright, pastel, natural, dark shades

  5. Level 7 To gain a level 7 you must complete level 4, 5 and 6 first, then for each image annotate how you could use the pattern, shape or colour on your product. Think about the product you want to design, the following words should help you to explain how the images can be incorporated into your product: • On the front or back of your product • Your technique (stitching, appliques, beading etc.)

  6. Designs

  7. Eyes (background) Applique yellow felt fabric with back stitch in red thread Nose Zigzag stitch with orange thread Eyes (centre) Daisy chain stitches in light blue thread with a French knot in the centre with electric blue thread Level 4 You are to draw 3 initial designs with the inspiration of your theme. To gain a level 4 all designs must have: • Colour • Annotation - label the type of fabrics, stitches and the colour of fabrics and threads. Wing stitching Bright pink thread with French knots Feet Daisy chain stitch in orange thread Wing (background) Applique bright pink felt fabric Centre Running stitch in lilac thread Outline Cross stitch with purple thread

  8. Colour • Remember your background is cream so think about the colours you would like on your product: • Red • White • Black • Pink • Blue • Green • Purple • Brown • Grey • Yellow • Orange • Key words • Calico • Thread • Sew • Felt • Ribbon • Buttons • Stitches • Running stitch • Back stitch • Daisy chain stitch • Zigzag stitch • French knots • Cross stitch

  9. Eyes (background) Applique yellow felt fabric with back stitch in red thread Nose Zigzag stitch with orange thread Eyes (centre) Daisy chain stitches in light blue thread with a French knot in the centre with electric blue thread Level 5 To gain a level 5 you must complete level 4 first. Then for each design you must explain how they would be suitable for your target market and why? Think about: • Theme • Pattern • Colour • Stitches Wing stitching Bright pink thread with French knots Feet Daisy chain stitch in orange thread Wing (background) Applique bright pink felt fabric Centre Running stitch in lilac thread Outline Cross stitch with purple thread Target Market

Then for each design you must link your specification to the design, is it the same or have you made any changes, if so explain why. You must also include a list of equipment needed to create your design. Then for each design you must explain how your research has inspired you to create this design. Make a link between your research and designs, think about: • Colours • Patterns Wing stitching Bright pink thread with French knots Feet Daisy chain stitch in orange thread Wing (background) Applique bright pink felt fabric Outline Cross stitch with purple thread Centre Running stitch in lilac thread Equipment list Target Market Research link Specification

  12. Evaluation

  13. Level 4 You must EXPLAIN all your answers: 1. A description of the product you made. 2. Write about the tools and equipment you used to make your product. 3. The positive aspects of you product. 4. The negative aspects of your product 5. What problems did you have with the project and how did you overcome them?

  14. Level 5 You must complete level 4 questions and then answer the following (explain all answers): 1. Write about the new skills you have learnt or developed 2. Does your target market think you have answered the design brief? 3. If you were to make your product again what would you change? Why? 4. Overall how successful was your product?

  15. Level 6 You must complete level 4 and 5 questions. Then answer the following (explain all answers): 1.Details of the modifications you made to your original design as you made the product and why you made those changes. 2.What quality control / assurance checks did you make throughout the making process . 3. Did your product satisfy all the aspects of the design specification?

  16. Level 7 You must complete level 4, 5 and 6 questions and then answer the following (explain all answers): 1.Detailed analysis of your product? 2. Feedback from others (testing) 3. Drawing and explanations ( possible modelling ) showing the modifications you would make to a future design
