  2. Objectives: Students will understand Limericks and their structure. • What are Limericks? • How many lines do they have? • What is the rhythm? • What is the rhyming scheme?

  3. Blackboard Time • Write a limerick on the board and discuss its structure. • What is a limerick? • How many lines does it have? • Does it have a rhyming scheme? • What is the rhyming scheme? • Does it have syllables? • How many syllables? • What is the rhythm of the limerick?

  4. Question Time • Ask the students questions to see if they understand the objectives that have been covered. • Take any questions the students might have about limericks. • Make up a limerick with the classes help. • Have students name parts.

  5. Class Participation • Divide students in groups. • Have the groups pick a subject. • Have groups write a limerick. • Have groups jumble sentences and exchange. • Have groups try to reconstruct the other group’s limerick. • Have each group read the reconstructed limerick aloud. • Confirm if it is right or wrong.

  6. Evaluation • Review and discuss limericks that groups created. • Answer any questions students may have about the lesson. • Evaluate the students on knowledge of limericks, and participation in group activity.

  7. Summary • Reinforced students daytime curriculum. • Students were competent on the subject. • Students participated well in the group project. • Student met all objectives.
