  2. Learning Goals • We would be able to know what Organizational Behavior is • Be able to understand the Relationship between an individualand organization • Work • Psychological Contract • Quality of Work life • Job Satisfaction

  3. Organizational Behavior • Organizational Behavior is basically the study of what the workers or staff do in an organization and how their behavior affects the performance of the organization.

  4. Relationship between the individual and organization • The individual’s ability to adapt to the organization can improve their skills and working experience. • The organization is only able to function properly when the individuals do the tasks their given efficiently and quickly • The way the workers are treated also determines how well the organization will function.

  5. Work • This is basically the effort a person puts into a particular activity in order achieve or accomplish a goal.

  6. Benefits of work • It can improve the workers skills. • It can benefit the organization positively if the worker is able to work efficiently. • It also provides a lot of experience to the worker depending on the intensity of the work.

  7. Psychological Contract • This is an informal obligation between an employer and his employees regarding the expectations of how they perform in the job. • This is mainly influenced by the commitment, job satisfaction and the quality of working conditions.

  8. Quality of Work Life • The concept of this is when an organization cares about well being of the employee and not only focusing on the work related aspects • When the organisation is able to follow this concept the workers would be happy and also do their work with lower levels of stress

  9. Benefits • Improves communication between worker and employee • Increased employee participation • Workers are able to be more flexible

  10. Job Satisfaction • This is simply the extent to which a worker likes (satifaction)or dislikes(dissatisfaction) their job. Benefits • It enables employees to show more enthusiasm when working. • Do work more quickly • Do work more efficiently

  11. Disadvantages • Workers would be stressed • They would not work efficiently • They would work slowly • Wont be so interested in their work
