  3. GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS TOTAL 80 credits

  4. GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS To Graduate, students need: • eighty credits in Grade 10-12 (equivalent to 20 four credit courses). This includes Required Courses, Elective courses. Plus the following: • Three Provincial Graduation Assessments Grade 10 Graduation Numeracy Assessment Grade 10 Graduation Literacy Assessment Grade 12 Graduation Literacy Assessment Students will have the chance to rewrite the numeracy and literacy assessments. • a minimum of 4 courses (16 credits) at the Grade 12 level including English 12

  5. EXTERNAL CREDITS • Royal Conservatory of Music • External Language Assessment • Language Challenge Exam • Athletics, Coaches, and Officials Programs • Life Saving – Bronze Cross • First Aid • Cadet Courses – Air, Army or Sea • Driver Education • Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

Four ways to get a second language: • Language 9, 10, 11 UBC requires a Language 11 UBC Arts recommends a Language 12 SFU requires a Language Introductory 11 • Language Introductory 11 plus Language 11 • Language Challenge Exam ( UBC will not use this exam in their admission averages for approved grade 12 courses)

  32. FAILS AND INCOMPLETES(Academic Course Results) INCOMPLETE (35% TO 49%) • Register for Summer School (Academic Completion) to complete the course • 4 weeks in July • 1 ½ hours per day per course • Can take 1 or 2 courses The incomplete grade is changed in August to a PASS or FAIL

  33. FAILS (0% to 34%) All compulsory courses must be repeated if failed (English, Socials, Math, Science, PE) Example: If you fail Math 10, take Math 10 in first semester of grade 10 and then take Math 11 in second semester.
