  2. What is Community Service? • Service-Learning is a method through which citizenship, academic subjects, skills, and values are taught. • There are three components of effective service learning… • Preparation • Performance • Analyze

  3. Relay Car Wash • During the car wash, I held up signs instructing the people on the road where they could get their car washed. • I also helped clean the cars by scrubbing them with sponges. • People were so generous with their donations for cancer research!

  6. Special Needs Awareness Day • Throughout the day I face painted, helped out with the bounce house by making sure the children were jumping safely, and helped run the various games set up. • Every child there was so happy and thankful for our help.

  9. Relay For Life • Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. Teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Relays are an overnight event, up to 24 hours in length. • I participated by walking our track with friends and raising money for our team. http://www.relayforlife.org/relay/whatisrelay
