  4. Rhetorical Question: Again I ask what is History? • History is not just what has been pounded in your head in school: names, datesandevents 1512 3000BC 1776 Martin Luther Queen Elizabeth Adolph Hitler Thomas Jefferson Leonardo DaVinci 1939 Christopher Columbus George Washington 2001 476AD

  5. [Hi-“story”] is about…. Making Connections Establishing Relationships Forming Identities Learning from Experiences

  6. My “HiSTORY” • The World at this very moment; the United States at this very moment was shaped by the [hi-“story”] of past people and events. • In a sense your life is like the [hi-“story”] of the World… • The person you are at this very moment was shaped by the people & events which have impacted you the most.

  8. Purpose of My HiSTORY Project • There are three primary objectives/goals • #1—Students recognize/understand the events and people which have helped impact the characteristics and the person they have become today. (1st Quarter Project) • #2—Students understand that much like their individual stories—History is a series of people/events linked to each other shaping the development of cultures, countries and the world. (1st Quarter Project) • #3—Students can identify characteristics in countries, cultures, and people. Than have the ability to determine what events/people impacted the development of these characteristics. (Future project/research paper)
