  2. What is KAIROS About? • KAIROS is an ecumenical Christian ministry designed for use in men’s and women’s correctional institutions in Texas. • The purpose of KAIROS is to help build and nurture strong Christian communities among the residents of these correctional institutions.

  3. What do the Residents experience on a KAIROS Weekend? The KAIROS weekend represents at least three truths of the Christian life: • God’s never ending Grace. • The power of love in the Christian Community. • Availability of God’s forgiveness to all.

  4. What’s all this aboutKAIROSCookies? • Each KAIROS Team member is responsible for bringing to the KAIROS Christian Renewal Weekend 10-30 dozen cookies. • That adds up to about 1,500 dozen home-baked prayed for, lovingly offered Agape Love cookies. shared God’s Love thru Your freely Gifts Agape Love

How are Thousands of Dozens of Cookies Used on a KAIROS Weekend? • On Thursday evening, cookies go with coffee, fresh fruit, and other beverages to soften the first tense minutes of the meeting between the resident participants and team members. • Every day, each of the 42 participants enjoys dozens of cookies that are shared with love during the talks and activities with the team and other “steward” inmates share God’s moments and answer questions about the KAIROS weekend.

  6. Cookies are available to the 42 participants every day, all day, in the conference room where the KAIROS is held. • Cookies are provided daily to the security stations, break rooms and staff offices as a way of thanking the correction officers, and support staff offices.

  7. What happens after the KAIROS? • The Brothers-in-White and the KAIROS “Free world” volunteers meet weekly to share their lives on a deeper spiritual level and to pray for one another. • KAIROS participants also attend monthly reunions in the institution with KAIROS volunteers and learn to walk closer with Jesus, thru spiritual talks and discipleship.

  8. What does all this mean? • KAIROS is a proven and effective, long lasting Prison Ministry • KAIROS can and will change the lives of the residents dramatically. • KAIROS changes the overall attitude in the institution.
