Recent Investments in Tech Valley • GLOBALFOUNDRIES • $5 billion 300mm fab • Total investment potential with expansion: $6.9 billion • Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute • Invested over $300 million in programs and facilities • $100 million Computational Center of Nanotechnology Innovations (CCNI) • University at Albany, College of Nanoscale • Science & Engineering (CNSE) • Over $7 billion invested • Awarded $57.5 million for solar research

IBM • Invests/announced plans to invest over • $2 billion in regional initiatives (Nanotech Packaging Center, Nanotech/Semiconductor programs at CNSE, RPI Supercomputer, East Fishkill Complex) • General Electric • $165 million World-Class Digital Mammography/Imaging Center • $100 million Advanced Battery Mfr. Ctr. • $45 million Renewable Energy Headquarters • $150 million Wind Institute and Turbine Service Center • $330 million investments to expand Global Research Headquarters

M+W Group USA • Announced last August they are moving their headquarters to the Watervliet Arsenal, creating 270 jobs • International SEMATECH • Moved its headquarters to CNSE, creating 100 new high-tech jobs and investing $80 million in the region • AngioDynamics • Built new headquarters in Latham, bringing 70 jobs

Sage INVEST • Tom Keane, Director, Academic Liaison • Established 2005 – 3 facility components • John Paine Lab facility – 8801 sq. ft. wet-chemistry lab space for nano, cleantech, pharmaceutical and bio clients • Esteves Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship micro-enterprises, non-tech businesses and IT for wet-chemistry lab facility clients • Interdisciplinary Studies and Emerging Sciences (ISES) • Present companies – GreaneTree Technology, Therion International, Paper Battery Co., Evident Technologies • Over 40 students to date involved through lab and business based internships

  13. iClean • 3 partners: HVCFI, E2TAC, CNSE • Established 2010 – funded by NYSERDA • Serves clean energy start-ups in 19 county Tech Valley • Office, small manufacturing and lab space, onsite and virtual engagements • Expands services at E2TAC/CNSE and HVCFI and creates new incubator at STEP • Services: access to R & D, academics, commercialization & manufacturing expertise, executive mentoring • Entrepreneurial Boot Camp – event series
