  5. Branches of the Government Judicial • Enforces the laws • Includes the judges and court systems

  6. Branches of the Government Judicial • The Supreme Court is the highest court in the United States The U.S. Supreme Court

  7. Branches of the Government Executive • The leader of the government who carries out the laws • Includes the President of the United States President George W. Bush

  8. Branches of the Government Executive • The leader of the government in New York state is the governor Governor George Pataki
