Intro • Jude has had to write some unpleasant things: • A plea to contend earnestly for the faith – Jude 3 • A warning about ungodly men who have crept in unnoticed – Jude 4 • A reminder of God's righteous condemnation in times past – Jude 5-7 • A description of the depravity of the ungodly dreamers – Jude 8-16 • Counsel on how to contend earnestly for the faith (not to “stumble”) – Jude 17-23 • Jude 24-25 • Jude ends his epistle on a positive note, one of praise and hope!   3. THE PERSON TO WHOM PRAISE IS ASCRIBED Jude 24 24. Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, • “To Him Who is able...” – Jude 24 (God in v. 25) • “To keep you from stumbling” - I Pet. 1:5; II Pet. 1:5-11 • To “contend earnestly for the faith” (Jude 3) and to keep • from “stumbling” we must heed the exhortations by Jude: • “Remember the words spoken before...” – Jude 17 • “Building yourselves up on your most holy faith” – Jude 20 • “Praying in the Holy Spirit” – Jude 20 • “Keep yourselves in the love of God – Jude 21 • “Looking for the mercy of …Christ unto eternal life” – Jude 21 (NKJ) Eph. 3:20-21 (G4053 perissos; “Super-Abundant,” beyond measure) 20. Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, 21. to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. • “To God...” – Jude 25a • “Our Savior” – Jude 25a (Rom. 5:9; I Tim. 1:1; Titus 3:4-6; Heb. 5:9: God is our Savior!) • “Through Jesus Christ our Lord” – Jude 25a (Eph. 1:7; 5:23; I Tim. 6:13-16: Christ is our Redeemer, Savior and Lord of lords!)   6. THE PRAISE ASCRIBED TO GOD Jude 25 25. to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. • Having described God, Jude proceeds to offer his praise – • A feature noted in Jude's epistle is his love of triplets: • His description of his readers – Jude 1 (Called, Sanctified, Preserved) • His prayer for them – Jude 2 (Mercy, Peace, Love) • His three examples of God's righteous condemnation – Jude 5-7 (Israel, Angels, Sodom & Gomorrah) • His preliminary description of the ungodly dreamers – Jude 8 (Defile, Reject, Revile) • His three examples of Old Testament apostates – Jude 11 (Cain, Balaam, Korah) • His summary description of the ungodly dreamers – Jude 19 (Cause divisions, Worldly-minded, Devoid of the Spirit) • His 3-fold exhortation on how to build up their faith – Jude 20-21 (Praying in the Holy Spirit, Keep yourselves in the love of God, Waiting anxiously for the mercy of Jesus) THE EPISTLE OF JUDE Pt.6: Standing Blameless With Great Joy

Amen. • “Before all time and now and forever” – Jude 25b • Jude's fervent prayer is that dominion and power, glory and majesty remain God's. • Not just for the present, but for all eternity! • (Jn. 12:48; I Pet. 1:23-25; Heb. 13:8) To God belongs all praise and honor, and the worship of men, for all time! Conclusion • For us to enjoy the blessings promised to the faithful, we must heed Jude's call… • To remember the words spoken before – Jude 17 (To know there is danger of apostasy) • To build ourselves up on our most holy faith – Jude 20 • To pray in the Holy Spirit – Jude 20 • To keep ourselves in the love of God – Jude 21 • To look for the mercy of our Lord Jesus unto eternal life – Jude 21 • To extend mercy (compassion) to those in danger – Jude 21 ...For only then will it be true that we heeded the exhortation “to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints” and stand before God “blameless with great joy!” THE EPISTLE OF JUDE Pt.6: Standing Blameless With Great Joy
