Essential Question:

How can a PAWM Pilot help me learn about Georgia’s land and its early people?

PAWM Pilot

  • 1st Step: Fold your paper almost in half (hotdog; down), leaving a little lip, so that the top half is shorter.
  • 2nd Step: Fold the paper into four parts by folding in half (hotdog; across), and then fold it in half again (hotdog; across).
  • 3rd Step: Unfold the paper to the original fold. Take the front flap and cut it into 4 “lids”; do NOT cut through the fold of the paper.

PAWM Pilot

  • On the “Cover”:

Write one time period on the lip or the longer half - Paleo, Archaic, Woodland, Mississippian.

  • Draw an illustration that represents each of the Pre-contact periods. Use at least 4 colors.

On the Flip Side of the “Cover” & Inside Section:

  • Write a summary of each Native American tradition. Tell about:
      • Family/Group Size
      • Food
      • Shelter
      • Clothing/jewelry
      • Weapons/Tools & Untensils
