Communications Alert INTI TO ESTABLISH COVENTRY-INTI ACADEMY IN UK March 8, 2003 marks an exciting date for all with the sealing of agreement between INTI College and Coventry University to establish the Coventry-INTI Academy in the United Kingdom. This joint venture reinforces the strong partnership enjoyed by the two institutions since 1990 to provide global education and quality academic programmes. INTI College, which is also the International Associate College of Coventry University, looks forward to the establishment of this academy as it augurs well with its international networking effort. Mr. Tan Yew Sing declares that this joint venture is the realization of INTI College’s long term plans to expand its academic opportunities through its internationalization process. This does not only include attracting international students and faculty members to the college, but also provides an opportunity for INTI to explore beyond its boundaries to offer its academic programmes to international students. The collaboration paves the way for INTI and Coventry to provide English Foundation Studies and year one programme in Business and IT. The academy, to be located in the campus of Coventry University, enables students to have access to the many general academic and non-academic facilities available in the University. The joint venture is believed to be the first initiative of its kind for a British university to enter into an international business collaboration with another institution of higher learning in bringing in international students. The event also sees Coventry University signing an articulation agreement with INTI’s associate college, Beijing INTI Management College (BIMC), to offer a 2 + 1 arrangement in Business and 3 + 0 programmes inthe near future.
