Today we will begin a new warm-up routine. • You may use the same notebook you’ve been using. • You may use regular notebook paper. • You will add the warm-ups to the same paper until you run out of room. • Each warm-up will be completed to the best of your ability and following the directions. • Each warm-up will be written in sentence and paragraph form. • Be prepared to write at least a half page each day.

  2. June 3, 2010 • Similes and metaphors are two ways of making comparisons. Similes compare things using the words like or as. (Angela is sly as a fox.) Metaphors do not use like or as; they imply that one thing is another. (All the world’s a stage.) • Write a paragraph that contains three similes and two metaphors. • Having trouble with a topic? Try describing your day. Or write about Caesar or Brutus. Anything you want!

Today we will: • Use tragedy notes to complete assessment on tragedy. • Write a persuasive speech for a character in the play who you believe has been misunderstood or undervalued. • Revise rough draft with a partner using the direction sheet. • Practice reading speech. Time it! Read with emotion! • Write final draft. • Create a Blabber for speech following the directions at blabberize.com. • Use the directions to create a video and save it in the proper folder with the proper name!

  4. Homework • Be prepared for a quiz on Act III next week: Monday or Tuesday.
