  1. Foundation Production Planning Grace Corriette

  2. Proposal I plan to produce a Pop magazine, and for my artist to be a female solo artist. My magazine will be aimed at teen girls, aged 14-16, therefore I will consider this when choosing my artist’s clothes and the price of the magazine , poses, layout, colours and content. The two solo female artists I will be looking at for inspiration are; Pixie Lott and Daisy dares you. The reason I have chosen these two is because I feel that their look is very up to date and that sells well to my target audience. I want to create an artist that is young, cool and will easily be able to fit into the music market today. Furthermore I intend for my Magazine to be able to look like a magazine that would sell in a retail store, such as WH Smiths. In order to do this I will follow most of the conventions of a Magazine.

  3. My target Audience.. My aim is that my Music magazine, would appeal to all ethnicities, Cultures and religions. I feel that I have taken the basics of a good magazine i.e.; Attractive presentation, Good information and unique features- built upon these, by adding my own ideas and presented it in away that most young teens would best receive it. When creating my magazine I had demographic in mind, I envisaged a young Teen who enjoyed listening to Music and hanging out with their friends, was still mostly dependant on their parents financially and was middle classed. Keeping this I created a magazine that would only appeal to this sort of person but also to a wider and more diverse group.

  4. Draft Fonts for my Magazine. I want to use Comic Sans MS as my main front for the double page spread and for my Contents page. I like that fact it is clear to read, and I feel that this will be very good for the magazine as it will enable my reader to view things clearly. For my heading, on my double page spread I intend on using Rockwell Extra Bold. This Font particularly stands out for me and I think that it will suit the style of my magazine and will grab the attention of my readers.

  8. Similar Artists/ groups Pixie Lott- is one of the artist that I looked at when I was planning my Magazine and choosing the style for my lead artist ‘Phoebe Summers’. I chose her as I like her look, she is also aimed at the age group that I hope my magazine will appeal to and her genre of music is very similar to the genre I hope to create for my solo artist.

  9. Similar Artists/ groups Cheryl Cole was another artist that I looked at when in my planning process. One of the reasons that i chose her was because also appeal to the same target audience as i hope to in my magazine. In addition she also appeals to an older market and a fairly wide demographic. She has gained this good reputation not only due to her world wide success but also thanks to her ever-growing reputation on Television show ‘X-Factor’.

  10. Similar Artists/ groups The Ting Ting’s were my inspiration for the band ‘Frank and the Tank’ that features on my contents page. I think that they were a good band to integrate into my Magazine because they bring a variety to my magazine’s style and i wanted to recreate this through my band ‘Frank and the Tank’ they are suitable for my target audience. However they are very appealing to a much older, and sophisticated demographic.

  11. Similar Artists/ groups ‘Daisy Dares You’- was the final artist that i looked at for inspiration. I feel that Daisy’s music, style and general attitude drift slightly from the mainstream idea of a ‘Conventional’ Pop artist however she is still very popular with young teens and Older teens too. I wanted my artist to be very flexible in her style and music so that she was not just attracting one type of person.

  12. The style i hope to achieve. I have specific idea about the style of my magazine. ‘LOOK’ magazine gave me inspiration, because it is packed with great, vibrant colours that will defiantly catch the attention of the reader. On the other hand i really like the composition of the VOGUE, because it still make an impact on the reader without being too crowded. I hope that my Front Cover, will be a balance of these two front cover types. I want the inside of my magazine ( Contents page and double page spread) to be kept simple, with a hybrid of text and images. I don’t want to over fill my page and detract from the main images or text. I hope to achieve this look by keeping my double page spread in Columns and integrating the images into the text.

  13. Who would make the magazine? Who would sell it?Big majors or small independents The sort of Media Institute that i would hope my Magazine would sell in would be: Supermarkets and news agents. I think that my magazine will be mainstream and conforms to a vast majority of the conventions set for magazines and it would therefore be sold by a Major company as opposed to a small independent company. A small independent company is more likely to sell a magazine that is of a niche market- because they are not as widely read.
