  3. 1. Paul has eight marbles, Robert has four marbles and Matthew has nine. How many marbles do they have altogether?

  4. 2. In the half yearly exam Stephanie got 24 marks, but in the annual exam she doubles her mark. What was her result in the annual exam?

  5. 3. A boy left home at 8:10 and arrived at school 15 minutes later. At what time did he arrive at school?

  6. 4. Rita’s hobby is collecting stamps, at present she has 650 stamps. How many more does she need to have 1,000 stamps?

  7. 5. The price of a toy car was €3.46. In a sale the price was discounted by 67c. What is the new price of the toy?

  8. 6. A boy has €1.63 in his money box. His grandmother gives him 55c. How much money does he have now?

  9. 7. What number am I thinking of? It is an odd number. It is in the x5 table. Its digits add up to 6.

  22. 20. In a small village school there are 12 classes with the following pupils: 4 classes with 30 students, 4 classes with 25 and 4 classes with 20. How many students attend this school?
