  4. Kindergarten Philosophy Welcome to our kindergarten, a place for you to wonder, to question, to play and to learn. Here you are safe and can be yourself amongst friends. Know that you will find spaces – inside and out – that are warm, wondrous and exciting. The teachers will challenge you, and support you to participate and have fun. They will listen to your ideas and take them seriously, then carefully think about how to help you take them further. Here, you will begin to take your place in a global community, preparing for school, learning skills for life, making sense of the world. We will explore with you the wonders of the natural world, planting the seeds for a sustainable future. We welcome your family and invite them to share with us your culture, language, knowledge and interests. Remember, we are all on this learning journey together, and we will support you every step of the way.

Kindergarten HoursDrop off and Pick up • Session Hours are 8:30am – 4:00pm • 7.5 hour days including rest/relaxation time • Implications for late drop off/early pick up • Group times • Missing key learning • Impact on other children • Pick up only through front entrance NOT back gate • Drop Off and Settling In

  40. Fees • $325 per term, payable prior to the commencement of each term • If fees remain unpaid, positions at the kindergarten will be cancelled • Health Care Cards (please inform the office) • See FEES POLICY on school website

Orientation and Term Dates Orientation • Both parents to attend if possible • Individual times to be sent home • Book time with teacher to discuss an medical / allergy plans 50 minute session for children and families to meet the teacher, and share student/family needs, interests and backgrounds • Monday/Wednesday Groups: Wednesday 30th January (9:30am, 10:30am, 11:30am) • Tuesday/Thursday Groups: Thursday 31st January (9:30am, 10:30am, 11:30am) Full Sessions Start Date: Monday 4th February (8:30am – 4:00pm) Curriculum Day and Public Holidays Term Dates as per Victorian State Schools

Kindergarten Lunchboxes • Nut Free Kindergarten (includes nut paste and Nutella) • Children must bring lunch, snacks and a water bottle • Healthy Eating Policy • No chips, chocolate, sweet drinks (juice and flavoured milk included) • Healthy lunchbox could include: • Fresh fruit • Crunchy vegetables • A meat or protein food such as ham or egg • A dairy food such as cheese, yoghurt, milk • Starchy food such as bread, pita, crackers
