  1. WARMUP Enter Room # 195236 Answer the questions using always, sometimes, or never

  2. 1.3 Segments, Rays, Parallel Lines and Planes

  3. Learning Target • I can identify segments, rays, and parallel lines given geometric figures.

  4. Segment – part of a line consisting of two endpoints and all points between them. • Ray – part of a line consisting of one endpoint and all the points of the line on one side of the enpoint. (Direction is important)

  5. Opposite Rays- two collinear rays with the same endpoint. Opposite Rays always form a line.

  6. Lets practice naming segments and rays (remember notation)

  7. Khan Academy • Geometry • Points lines and planes • Recognizing rays, lines, and line segments • Get 5 in a row correct and show us • Homework/Classwork • Practice 1-3 #1-6, #14-19

  8. Warmup Enter Room 195236 Answer questions with Always, sometimes, or never

  9. Learning Target • I can identify segments, rays, and parallel lines given geometric figures.

  10. Parallel Lines – coplanar lines that do not intersect • Skew lines – noncoplanar lines (they are not parallel and they do not intersect) • Examples

  11. Identify some parallel lines and some skew lines.

  12. Parallel Planes – Planes that do not intersect • EX

  13. In your groups, do 7-9 on 1-3 worksheet

  14. Now do 10-13

  15. Lets review what we’ve done so far • P.16 #91-94 • P.23 #71-78 • P. 23 #4-10

  16. WARNING: This will be your only warning • You have a homework quiz tomorrow on 1-1 to 1-3 • Homework quizzes are problems taken directly from your homework, so if you stay on top of your classwork/homework, you will not have a problem with this.

  17. Assignment, Due tomorrow • Pages 19-20 #1-47 odd
