  2. The Greatest Party of the Year • I’m having the greatest birthday party of the year, and I need your help planning my party!

  3. Question • Nine of my closest friends will be going to the party, and I would like each person to have 3 tokens so that they can have fun playing games. How many tokens will we need all together? • Take some time to figure it out!

  4. Solution • 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 There are ten people and three tokens for each person. The answer to this problem is 30

  5. Question • I want to make candy bags and I want each person to have 2 candy bars, 2 lollipops, and 1 peppermint patty. • How many pieces of each candy will I need?

  6. Solution • 1 • 2 • 3 • 4 • 5 • 6 • 7 • 8 • 9 • 10 Count the total of each group needed. I will need 20 bars 20 lollipops 10 patties

  7. Question • I will need to make fruit punch for everyone including myself to drink. • A serving of fruit punch is made using 1 tablespoon of powder and 4 ounces of water. • How many tablespoons of powder and ounces of water will I need to make enough punch for everyone to have a serving?

  8. Solution • 1 • 2 • 3 • 4 • 5 • 6 • 7 • 8 • 9 • 10 Think of a way to quickly count how many ounces and tablespoons I will need. Hint: You can multiply them! Ounces= 40 oz. Tablespoons= 10

  9. Question • For dessert, I will have a rectangular shaped cake and I need to figure out how many pieces will be cut on the long side and how may pieces will be cut on the shorter sides so that everyone gets an equal amount of cake.
