  2. First Day Schedule • 9:00 AM Arrive at CEBAF Center • Lectures/talks • “Course Overview” • “Introduction to ERLs” (C. Tennant: ~30 minutes) • “JLab FEL Overview” (D. Douglas: ~60 minutes) • Lunch (off-site) • “Beam Diagnostics Overview” (P. Evtushenko: ~40 minutes) • “Using the FEL as Beam Diagnostic” (S. Benson: ~40 minutes) • “Longitudinal Matching” (D. Douglas: ~40 minutes) • FEL Tour • 5:30 PM Depart for Hotel

  3. “Typical” Schedule • 9:00 AM Arrive • (Tuesday: meet Sue Ewing at CC) • Talk/tutorial on the beam-based measurement • Split into 2 groups of 6 students • Group A: control room for beam-based measurements • Group B: laboratory exercise • 12:30-1:30 PM Lunch (Quark Café) • Transportation to and from CEBAF Center provided • Groups swap • 5:30 PM Depart • Evening: TBA

Miscellaneous • Grading • Will have a variety of assignments (i.e. data analysis, computer lab, lab report, HW problems, etc…); no final exam • HOWEVER the emphasis should be on learning as much as you can and gaining experience in a machine control room • During the course, if there is a topic or measurement you’d like covered more thoroughly, let us know!
