EU-SOLARIS was included in the 2010 ESFRI ROAPMAP • EU-SOLARIS is a unique distributed research infrastructure for Solar Thermal Electricity (STE), using a common legal form, a joint management board and one access point for users. • EU-SOLARIS involves 15 partners from 9 countries: • 13 KEY SCIENTIFIC ORGANISMS • The Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness • The European STE Industry Association (ESTELA)

  4. Provisions for the infrastructure upgrades of the 13 scientific partners are estimated at 120 million € (until 2020) • CTAER/PSA facilities in Almeria, Spain, will act as the central node of the project, complemented at the same time by the support eleven outstanding scientific partners.

  5. Preparatory Phase (PP) proposal submitted to FP7 Call: • FP7-INFRASTRUCTURES-2012-1 INFRA-2012-2.2.1: EU-SOLARIS – The European SOLAR Research Infrastructure for Concentrating Solar Power • First evaluation successfully passed • Invitation for negotiation received and in process • Duration of proposed PP: 2012 – 2016

  6. The Preparatory Phase will deal with the following main aspects for EU-SOLARIS: • Governance & Legal Status • Financial sustainability & Contact with STE Industry • Joint RTD project mechanisms • Access for user & Services • E-infrastructure (internal communication & dissemination)
