  2. Prefixes Remember - prefixes are word parts that modify the meaning of the root word(s) or combining form(s) Prefixes can usually be added without changing the root word or combining form - but there are exceptions!

  3. Prefixes Some prefixes modify the number of the term: + uni- (one) + mono- (one) + bi- (two) + di- (two) + tri- (three)

  4. Prefixes Some prefixes modify the number of the term: + tetra- (four) + quad- (four) + penta- (five) + centi- (one hundred(th)) + milli- (one thousandth)
