  3. This screen shows an alphabetical list of API companies. Typing *-delimited text fragments into the orange bar allows quick access to a company, even if full name not available

  4. Typing in *bio* creates a list of companies containing that fragment within its name. By clicking the profile key of the company, a full profile is presented (see next slide).

  5. Notice that every company’s name is also shown in Chinese characters

  6. By typing a fragment of the province name, only companies located in that province are listed. Notice that the default entry persists until the Select button for the chosen entry is pressed.

  7. The company profile is presented in a series of compact tabbed fields. The Products tab is pressed to see a list of APIs and intermediates.

  8. In the next slide, the product certifications of another Zhejiang-based producer are shown

  9. The default screen lists APIs in terms of sales importance. To find a particular API, scroll down the list or use the orange bar to navigate, as in earlier examples

  10. 1 2 click here For instance, search for antivirals that include the “vir” string (1). Click the API being searched (2) and the profile will appear to the right (see next slide).

  11. This screen is for carrying out text fragment searches for chemical intermediates and ALL APIs listed (including the top 700). No “*” is required when entering text fragments in this search system. As an example, the term statin has been entered so that a list of anti-cholesterol APIs can be created (see next slide). Chemical intermediates can be searched using a fragment of the chemical name, such as “bromo”, “pyrim”, “diphen”, etc (no example).

  12. SNAPI lists 15 producers of simvastatin. Click Show to see them (next slide).

  13. Information on company SITE and PRODUCT certifications are listed separately. As an example, clicking the middle button brings up the list of all product certifications (the default listing is EU CoSs). Other regulators can be selected using the scroller. See next slide.

  14. For many people, the geography of China is unfamiliar. This handy map enables users to find companies using a graphical interface. It also helps users to become better informed about the provinces and major cities of China. A listing for Jiangsu is shown in the next slide.

  15. Clicking here creates a list of Jiansu-based API producers (not shown).
