  10. SOLAR TRAINING SYSTEMS – IMPORTANCE TO NHE • INCORPORATE INTO STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS • DEVELOP ACCURATE HOUSE PLANS • CONSTRUCTION – QUALITY ASSURANCE • MINIMAL DEFECTS => REDUCED COST OF MAINTENANCE • SATISFIED CLIENTS => REPAYMENTS => REVENUE (= CUSTOMER CENTRICITY)

EE & RE BARRIERS IN NAMIBIAAnnual National Survey on Energy Efficiency (2011) • National building codes do not incorporate EE & RE standards • No EE standards and labelling system in Namibia • No dedicated EE financial instruments for building owners • Limited availability of qualified energy auditors • Limited promotion & awareness about EE activities • There are no significant programmes or legislation that offer incentives promoting the uptake of EE technologies

CO-FINANCING OF SOLAR WATER HEATING SYSTEMS ON 62 HOUSES AT OTJOMUISE • NHE signed contract with TBS on behalf of the 62 Home Owners for Solar Water Heating Systems • Beneficiary Home Owners have financial contracts with NHE to purchase the houses through loan repayment over a twenty year period. • NHE extends NAD 4 308.03 loan facility to Beneficiary Home Owners to have the SWH systems installed, to spread payment over the remaining bond period • Beneficiaries can also pay cash

CO-FINANCING OF SOLAR WATER HEATING SYSTEMS ON 62 HOUSES AT OTJOMUISE • TBS will procure and install the 62 SWH systems, and offer the necessary guarantees, and warrantees, and servicing of the systems for a five year period after completion of the installation. • Soltrain II Project, through the NEI, will oversee that TBS installs the 62 SWH, and inspect the quality of installation as well as ensure technical specification satisfy the task. • The Soltrain Project, through NEI, will provide funding of €32 457.00, constituting 44.5 % of the cost of the systems, directly to TBS, as soon as the contract is signed. • The MME will pay the shortfall, from NEEP funds, directly to TBS, upon completion of the installation
